MAMEHub General FAQ
1. Which ROMs should I use for MAMEHub?
ROM requirements:
Warning: You may be successful using pre-.141 MAME ROMs but the further away you go from .141 the less likely they will work.
Archive formats supported:
Only zip format is supported. 7z, RAR and other formats are not supported.
Console ROMs may be unzipped.
ROM Auditing & Identification:
See the Hash File FAQ for more information on ROM auditing & identification.
2. Can I use older MAME ROMs? (such as MAME 0.67 ROMs)[/size]
Probably not.
MAMEHub needs MAME .141 compliant ROMs for arcade games!
In some cases, such as certain Capcom ROMs, using pre-.141 ROMs can cause false positives to appear in the MAMEHub game list.
3. How do I add ROMs to MAMEHub?[/b]
1. Click the "Set Directories" button in MAMEHub.
2. Click "Browse".
3. Browse to the folder with the ROMs and click "OK".
4. Click "Add Directory" <--- Do not forget this step!
5. Close the "Set Directories" dialog.
6. MAMEHub will now automatically audit your ROM paths.
7. The new games should be listed now.
4. My ROMs still don't show up! (a.k.a. Where are my NeoGeo games?)[/b]
Many games require a BIOS file. For example, SNK/NEOGEO games need a valid .141 neogeo.zip (BIOS file).
The best source for needed BIOS files is the complete MAME .141 ROM set! (See Question 12 for more info)
Partial list of arcade BIOS requirements:
Partial list of console BIOS requirements:
SNES requires snes.zip

Either double-click the game from the Game List or use the "Host Custom Game" button.
It is recommended to use the double-click method.

Press T in-game to chat.
7. How do I remove the network info panels in-game?[/b]
Press N in-game to remove the network info panels.

10. A friend joined our game that was in-progress. Why are we frozen?[/b]
Incoming peers must download and process all of the past history of the session they are joining.
The other peers will be halted until the incoming peer catches up. The amount of time this takes will vary depending on:
1. How long the game was running.
2. The CPU power of the incoming peer to process the history.
11. Why is the MAMEHub lobby empty/devoid of activity right now?[/b]
Reasons for the MAMEHub lobby being empty/devoid of activity may include:
1. Most players don't have a lot of time for playing games.
2. Most players don't stick around for long after they're done playing.
3. Many solo players join but then quickly get discouraged and leave when they see the low population.
The most active time period in MAMEHub seems to be in the evening hours (EST).
The best way to utilize MAMEHub is to bring a friend so you'll have someone to participate with.
12. Where can I get the ROMs needed for MAMEHub[/b]
The best ROM set for playing arcade games on MAMEHub is a MAME .141 ROM set.
