Hey all,
On November 18th MAMEHub will officially be a year old. We should do something to celebrate! Got any ideas?
I'll start it off: We could arrange a street fighter tournament. That seems to be one game that everyone knows how to play more-or-less.
If you have any other ways to celebrate MAMEHub's 1st birthday, post them here!

[...] If you have any other ways to celebrate MAMEHub's 1st birthday, post them here! We could have a MAMEHub Video Contest. Whoever (an individual or a group) that submits the best MAMEHub video that really captures the essence of the 2-player (or more) experience. The advantage is that the contest wouldn't be a time-specific event. Anyone interested can create and post their video on their own schedule. The disadvantages are going to be judging the videos and the fact that not all games can be recorded by anyone who wants to due to performance/resource issues.

One note: it's still possible for the server to record videos the old fashioned way by capturing inputs and then rerunning MAME to record the video.

maybe this: Everyone who wants to participate records their game (if you cant figure out how to record yet u can set up an emulator your retarded) we all submit it. then i will submit the winner to my mamehub youtube channel. the winner gets their name hwen you login I.E. "congratulate (insert name here) on winning the video contest!" so on and so forht. i will be a judge and i think krusty and spoot and dethmtldon should be also. also DG. that way its five people.

On November 18th MAMEHub will officially be a year old. hmm, is that the date you released it privately, as apposed to announcing it to the world? The date you posted about MAMEhub 0.1 release on your blog was December 10th 2010. That's why i put that date as the release date on our official google site. See it here 10ghost.blogspot.com/2010/12/csmame-csmess-09-mamehub-01-released.html

Plus that gives us more time to plan an awesome contest

I don't agree with the video contest idea. As a Gaming application it makes more sense for a tournament type venue, not who is the best video editor competition. One idea i had to be fair is a last minute announcement of an obscure game, announce the game on a Saturday and play on a Sunday. This way we are unlikely to have a contestant already be a master, while still giving players enough time to figure the game a bit.

i doubt at the end of the day we will have that many participants, one is to have a spectator, if we are not gona use the honor system. Ideally however we will have every match recorded, that way at the end of the day we can upload to youtube, as well as act as proof of victory if there is any dispute.
